God Shuffled His Feet
good album
God Shuffled His Feet is the second album by the Crash Test Dummies, released in 1993. It features their most popular single, "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm". The cover art superimposes the band members' faces over the figures of Titian's painting Bacchus and Ariadne. It was their most successful album commercially, charting at #9 in the U.S. charts, as well as #2 in the UK charts. All songs written by Brad Roberts. "God Shuffled His Feet" - 5:10 "Afternoons & Coffeespoons"...
Urban Hymns
good album
This is undoubtedly one of the best albums of the 90's. It contains two megahits - Bitter Sweet Symphony and The Drugs Don't Work. The latter I consider to be one of the best love songs ever recorded. Few other songs also rate very high - Sonet, Lucky Man, Space and Time and Velvet Morning.
The album is very consistent with an excellent sound, brilliant lead vocal by Richard Ashcroft and gentle and often psychedelic guitar by Nick McCabe. Ashcroft, an author of most of the songs, is at its...
Tails CD
great album
I didn't know that I was going to like this CD when I bought it, but through some convergence of good luck I bought it anyway. Like many people I had developed the incorrect opinion that Lisa Loeb was nothing more than fluffy pop and could be clumped together more with N'SYNC and The Backstreet Boys than with singer/songwriters like Aimee Mann or Liz Phair. I was wrong, and I whole-heartedly admit that now. Lisa Loeb is an alt-rock magician of the highest order. Yes, her songs are infectious ...
Pocket Full of Kryptonite
good album
This will be brief......Pocket Full of Kryptonite is one of those albums I pull off the shelf every so often when I need a "fix" of Stratocaster ear candy. Obviously, Jimmy Olsen's Blues & Two Princes are the cuts that have catchy grooves and "feel-good" nuances. But the reason I decided to enter this Opinion was for listeners to focus on the guitar playing of Eric Schenkman. He's got some terrific riffs, cool harmonics.......but what really grabs you is some of the in...
Greatest Hits I, II & III - The Platinum Collection (3CD) [Box Set, Original Recording Remastered]
great collection
If you're new to Queen and you're planning on getting the Platinum collection, then I can tell you for sure that you won't be dissapointed... however, it would be a better choice to get the old "Greatest Hits I & II" box set with "Made In Heaven" added.
Why??... because "Greatest Hits I & II" has the best of Queen from 1974-1991, and the only album that Queen put out after Freddie Mercury's death in 1991 was 'Made In Heaven'
No Need to Argue -The Cranberries Music CD
no need to argue
It was a tough act to beat when Irish group the Cranberries released the follow-up to their debut disc Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We, an interesting and intimate album highlighted by the memorable hit "Linger." Critics chided that Everybody was timid in nature both musically and lyrically, but No Need to Argue quickly changed all that. The 1994-released effort was decidedly more confrontational, instantly evident by the lyrics, inspired by the Irish conflict, in their h...
Jagged Little Pill - Acoustic Alanis Morissette
good
To mark the 10-year anniversary of the 30 million-selling Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette decided to release an acoustic version of the very same 13 songs. A little more sung than screamed, Jagged Little Pill Acoustic is certainly less edgy than the original, but then again, so is Alanis herself. Now a 30-something Grammy-winner, she has far less to be angst-y about. The disc opens with one of its highlights, a slightly East Indian-tinged "All I Really Want" which includes a m...
Pearl Jam Twenty (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
pj 20
In honor of Pearl Jam's twentieth anniversary, award-winning director and music journalist Cameron Crowe created a definitive portrait of the seminal band carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely and never-before-seen footage, plus 24 hours of recently shot concert and interview footage. PEARL JAM TWENTY chronicles the years leading up to the band's formation, the chaos that ensued soon-after their rise to mega-stardom, their step back from center stage, and the creation of a work culture that ...
vs. & Vitalogy 3 CD Deluxe Edition (Featuring Live At The Orpheum, Boston MA
damn good album
Pearl Jam’s Vs. and Vitalogy continued the band’s explosive success that began with their debut record Ten in 1991. Vs. was released on October 19, 1993 – it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold over 6 million copies. Vitalogy followed a little over a year later on December 6, 1994, and has since gone 4-times Platinum, also reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. And now some fifteen+ years later, these seminal records receive the definitive reissue. Epic/Legacy is proud to pres...
Ukulele Songs
what a album.
Ukulele Songs is a collection of original songs and covers performed by Vedder on ukulele. Featuring a number of songs that Vedder penned and first played live but never released nearly a decade ago, "Ukulele Songs" also includes a uke version of Pearl Jam's 2002 track "Can't Keep" and guest vocalists on two tracks: Glen Hansard on "Sleepless Nights" and Cat Power on "Tonight You Belong To Me." The album's lead single, "Longing To Belong," a V...
Silver [Import]
moist
This is the debut disc for Moist, a five piece Canadian group. This album is full of dark themes meant to be played on a stormy night. On most songs, you get the feeling that lead singer David Usher is a very tortured soul due to the anger and pain that comes across in his vocals. A lot of times he will vary between hurried whispers to anguished screams. Mark Makowy's guitar often screams as loud and as agonized as Usher's vocals, often providing a tense counterbalance to the lyrics. Jeff Pea...
August & Everything After
most waited album
Biography
Counting Crows put in the gigging hours during the early days of the band, and it paid off. By the time they signed to Geffen in 1993, they had already built up a significant fanbase. Their debut, August and Everything After was released later the same year and became an unexpected multi-platinum hit, partly as a result of the successful single "Mr. Jones". Soon after, lead singer Adam Duritz… Read more in Amazon's Counting Crows Store
